ISUOG World Congress
Title: 20th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dates: 10 – 14 October 2010
Location: Prague, Czech Republic
Website: www.isuog.org
In the tradition of ISUOG’s congresses, the program offers two parallel streams giving state of the art updates and new research presentations in obstetrics and gynecology. The sessions incorporate the popular live scan demonstrations of normal ultrasound findings by leading world experts, as well as plenty of opportunities for small group discussions through Oral Poster sessions and interactive sessions.
Please visit the Congress website for regular updates on the scientific program, fees and CME accreditation.

Fetal Echocardiography: Normal and Abnormal Hearts
This course provides detailed information on the evaluation of the normal fetal heart both from an anatomic and functional approach. In keeping with progress in this field, detailed information on the use of three dimensional ultrasound and tissue Doppler in fetal echocardiography and cardiac imaging in the early gestation is presented. The course also provides comprehensive evaluation of various cardiac malformations involving abnormalities of the cardiac chambers and the outflow tracts.
This course will greatly benefit physicians and sonographers in the fields of maternal fetal medicine, pediatric cardiology, obstetrics and pediatrics as well as maternal fetal medicine and pediatric cardiology fellows. It should also provide valuable to those physicians and sonographers wanting to gain a more in depth knowledge of fetal echocardiography.
The course is presented by international leaders in the field and all are actively involved in caring for pregnancies complicated with fetal cardiac abnormalities.

RAPID
Website: www.rapid.nhs.uk
email address: rapid@ich.ucl.ac.uk
Reliable Accurate Prenatal non-Invasive Diagnosis is a 5 year UK national programme funded by the National Institute for Health Research.
The aim of RAPID is to improve the quality of NHS prenatal diagnostic services by evaluating early non-invasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD) based on cell free fetal (cff) DNA and RNA in maternal plasma. Much of the work in the RAPID programme will continue from research done during the successful SAFE EU Framework 6 network of excellence which ended in February 2009.
Safe Network
The Special Non-Invasive Advances
in Fetal and Neonatal Evaluation Network
Website: http://www.safenoe.org
The SAFE Network started on 1 March 2004, and is set to run for a period of 5 years. It is sponsored under the EU Framework 6 programme to 12 Million Euros and has 50 partners from 19 countries currently participating. It is envisaged that collaborations may also be established with additional designated parties sharing a common interest in this field, who would become SAFE Associates. SAFE aims to lay the foundations for European advances in NIPD and NS. One of the reasons for the setting up the network is that relevant knowledge is dispersed across many disciplines, including molecular biology, medical genetics, bioinformatics, social justice, and ethical studies. SAFE brings together leading experts from the key disciplines in a programme designed to achieve intellectual and practical integration with a view to enhance the efficacy of NIPD and NS for genetic disorders within and beyond the European Community.
