The Division of Women’s Genetics in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City seeks a full-time faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.

The successful applicant will serve as the Laboratory Director for the Women’s Genetic Center, a formal collaboration between the Women’s Genetics Service of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Department of OB/GYN, a national leader in clinical reproductive genetics and genomics, and the New York Genome Center (NYGC), a national leader in the advancement of genomic science and its application to drive novel biomedical discoveries. The combined expertise and vision of CUIMC OB/GYN and NYGC in the formation of the Women’s Genetic Center will become the premier provider of cutting edge clinical genomic healthcare for women focused on genomic testing modalities. The incumbent will serve in a leadership role on the Executive Committee of the Women’s Genetic Center and report to the Board of Directors of this program including the Chair of the Department of Ob/Gyn and the Chief Executive Officer of the New York Genome Center.

The candidate must be an MD or PhD with board certification in an appropriate ABMG sub-specialty or PhD in biological sciences with board certification in Clinical Molecular Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics; 10+ years of direct molecular diagnostics laboratory management in genetic testing, including supervision of laboratory staff and eligibility for New York State Certificate of Qualification for genetic testing.
