Message from the President, March 2020

Louise E. Wilkins-Haug, MD, PhD

Registration opens this month for the 24th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy in Montreal, 16-19 June 2020. We continue to closely monitor the rapidly changing coronavirus situation. We are planning for four days of education through preconference courses, invited talks, hot topic presentations, and posters of all types including a collaboration corner dedicated to those individuals seeking patients or investigators globally for ongoing studies. And of course, the ever-popular debates. Abstract submission has been extended through 16 March 2020.

Trainees and early career individuals are encouraged to attend and submit abstracts as there are events designed specifically for you, including a dedicated reception and session. The top three early career abstracts will be presented in a dedicated session, and each presenter will receive a travel award and be eligible for the 2020 Joe Leigh Simpson Award for the Best Early Career Investigator. Engaging the Next Generation remains a priority for ISPD as the Society continues to grow and expand globally.

ISPD is closely watching the Coronavirus developments. With more than three months to the meeting, we are monitoring the WHO and Canadian travel and safety recommendations, along with precautions other meetings are enacting, and we will adjust plans for the Montreal meeting as needed. The health and safety of our members, their families, and all attendees are our priorities and central to our discussions. The conference website will be updated weekly with the latest information and recommendations.
