General Questions

Will the ISPD 24th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy be rescheduled?
We are investigating multiple options right now, including (but not limited to): a virtual event featuring some of the presentations that were scheduled to take place, recorded presentations, and postponing the Montréal meeting to dates in 2022. Once the ISPD Board has determined the most feasible direction(s) to take, we will announce them.

Will the 2020 International Conference content be automatically included for the 2021 conference?
We cannot guarantee what content will be considered for the 2021 conference. ISPD is working on plans to provide some of the 2020 Conference content over the next several months. Our plans will be communicated once known.

If I submitted an abstract for the 2020 International Conference, will I have another opportunity to present my work?
ISPD will not be publishing the abstracts submitted for the 2020 conference. If you would like to resubmit your abstract for the 2021 ISPD conference in Edinburgh, UK, you are welcome to do so. If you submitted a poster for the Collaboration Corner, ISPD will be reaching out to discuss options for posting the abstract on the Collaboration Corner on the ISPD website

Will there be a financial loss to the Society?
At this time, ISPD leadership and staff are working to identify all costs that will be incurred by cancelling this year’s conference. We are attempting to mitigate the costs as much as possible.

Does ISPD have event cancellation insurance?
ISPD has event cancellation insurance for the 24th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy that covers the most typical kinds of disruptions, including communicable diseases. We anticipate this coverage will help to mitigate some of the financial loss incurred by the society.

Exhibitors and Sponsors

I am an exhibitor. Will my exhibit booth payment be refunded?
ISPD has emailed all exhibiting organizations with the following two options regarding their booth payment:
  1. Receive a 100% refund.
  2. Receive a credit for 100% of your booth to be used towards next year’s International Conference in Edinburgh, UK.

When can I select my booth for the 2021 conference?
Booth selection for the 2021 International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy will begin in late 2020. Exhibitors will be contacted in priority point order to reserve a booth.

My organization has paid for an Industry Sponsored Symposium at the 2020 Conference. How will my sponsorship benefits that were tied to the International Conference be met?
ISPD staff will be contacting sponsor organizations with some alternative sponsorship benefit options to replace the conference benefits that were offered.

Housing and Travel

I booked my hotel using the hotel reservation link on ISPD’s website. Will my hotel reservation be canceled?
You will need to contact the hotel directly to cancel your reservation.

I already bought my airline ticket to come to the ISPD Conference; what should I do?
You will need to contact the airline or your travel agent directly to cancel your booking. Many airlines are waiving cancellation fees and/or offering full credits to use for future bookings, but you will have to communicate with your airline to learn what their policies are in this situation.
