The ISPD e-newsletter, Global Updates, is distributed to ISPD members and affiliates. Through the ISPD Federation network, the newsletter also is disseminated to members of national societies in Europe, Asia, South America and Australia.

Message from the ISPD President

It is my pleasure to present to you the first newsletter of 2023. This year holds great promise for our organization, and there are numerous reasons to be excited.

Registration for the in Edinburgh is now open, and I encourage all members to take advantage of this opportunity to exchange ideas and network with peers from around the world. Please register as soon as possible to enjoy our early-bird rates.

Our popular continues to provide educational webinars and live online courses that are essential for staying updated on the latest developments in prenatal diagnosis and fetal therapy. I welcome and encourage your participation.

As we progress into 2023, our Board is working diligently on a new strategic plan for Society. We are committed to ensuring that our organization can meet your professional needs and is well-positioned to take advantage of new opportunities as they arise. We will update you on our progress soon and welcome your input as we move forward.

As always, I look forward to our continued work together and wish you a successful year ahead.

Join Us for the Pioneer Award Lecture

The 2023 ISPD Pioneer in Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy Award has been awarded to Mark I. Evans, MD. He is President of the Fetal Medicine Foundation of America (FMFA), Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, President of the International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society Foundation (IFMSS), and President of Comprehensive Genetics, PLLC. Dr. Evans is considered one of the major key opinion leaders in the fields of prenatal diagnosis, screening, and fetal therapy world-wide. He routinely lectures around the globe and is regularly invited as visiting professor to national and international obstetrics and genetics meetings.

In support of this award, ISPD President, Mahesh Choolani, recognized Dr. Evans' 40+ years of professional contributions, along with his role as a founding member and past Treasurer of ISPD, noting that "Professor Evans truly belongs among the trailblazers in the field of prenatal genetics and screening."

Dr. Evans will deliver the 2023 Pioneer Award Lecture on Tuesday, 20 June 2023, at the 27th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy in Edinburgh, UK. In-person and virtual registration is available.
