Message from the ISPD President

Tim Van Mieghem ISPD President

Dear ISPD members and supporters,

I am pleased to reflect on the success of our 2025 International Conference held in Cape Town, South Africa, just over a month ago, which brought together our global community in a truly meaningful way.

This year’s meeting attracted 436 registrants, with 138 colleagues participating virtually, underscoring both the strong engagement of our members and the continued importance of accessible, hybrid scientific exchange. The scientific program was outstanding, and the pre-conference courses were well-attended. Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) emerged as the top-performing course—highlighting ongoing innovation and clinical impact in prenatal diagnosis.

Beyond the conference, 2025 has been a year of momentum for ISPD. Despite the geopolitical events, we had advances in research, education, and clinical practice, as well as strengthened connections among our members worldwide. These achievements speak to the resilience, dedication, and expertise of our community and to our shared mission of improving prenatal care globally.

Looking ahead, we approach the new year with optimism and enthusiasm. It was 30 years ago in 1996 that ISPD began to take shape. At this time of reflection, we pause to celebrate our past successes, innovation, and ISPD's real-world impact in prenatal diagnosis. I look forward to continuing this journey together in 2026.

Tim Van Mieghem
