On 11 October 2015, ISPD held a joint workshop with ISUOG at their 25th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology entitled NIPT: Possibilities and pitfalls. The session was chaired by Drs. Sylvie Langlois and JoAnn Johnson from Canada. Speakers included both co-chairs and Drs. Ann Tabor from Denmark and Lisa Hui from Australia. Talks covered many aspects of NIPT from the basics to its use for screening for common aneuploidy to microdeletion and whole genome analysis. To complete the session, the downstream effects of this new technology were discussed. The session was extremely well attended and received. We look forward to continuing our joint programs with ISUOG at both of our annual conferences.
